It’s the Middle of Winter, But We’re Getting Ready for Easter
Bitterly cold temps froze much of the country this week, as snow caused closures in several East Coast cities. Even though we in the United States are still dealing with the cold, ice, and snow that come with mid-Winter, it’s not too early to begin thinking of the warmth of Spring. Lent and Easter are just around the corner! This year, Ash Wednesday falls on March 5. Palm Sunday is April 13 and Easter is April 20. How will you, your family, and your church reflect upon the crucifixion and death of Jesus this year? How will you celebrate his glorious resurrection? I want to make sure you know about these available resources to help you during the Lenten season: Blog Posts During the next few months, I’ll be publishing excerpts from several of my books that will help you grow closer to God. I’ll highlight passages from The Way, Final Words From the Cross, and Journey to the Cross: Reflecting on 24 Hours That Changed the World, which is brand-new this year. Books Journey to the Cross weaves the daily devotions from 24 Hours That Changed the World: 40 Days of Reflection with content from the 24 Hours book and DVD. Each week the devotions are introduced with travel notes and reflections from the Holy Land. Journey to the Cross would be ideal for daily personal study during Lent. You'll probably want to start reading with Day 1 no later than March 10, which would take you through Good Friday for the last devotion on Day 40. You may also want to read my other books, which would be good choices for Lenten devotions. 24 Hours That Changed The World guides you step by step through the 24 hours of Jesus' life. The Way retraces the footsteps of Jesus from his baptism to his final week, and Final Words From the Cross explores Jesus' final words as seen and heard throught he eyes and ears of those who stood near the cross. You can find all of these books under the Store tab here. Free Daily Email Devotional Get a free devotional of The Way delivered right to your email.
